I’d tried many yoga classes over the years, but when I first went to an ashtanga class in Rishikesh, North India in 1999, I knew that this was the style for me. Unbeknown to me, those two weeks of practice would change the direction of my life.
I continued to do my own practice whilst travelling around the world using …
Hatha Yoga with Lisa Jane Making
Everybody and Every Body is welcome; which means the session is perfect for beginners as well as regular practitioners, assistance and progression is offered throughout the class.
The class is a friendly and informal environment with plenty of encouragement and a laid-back vibe with lots of laughs along the way.
We start with a simple breathing practice/pranayama which helps to relax the body and then move into some juicy warm up stretches and find our way to postures/asanas with a little playtime before a guided relaxation, leaving your feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready for the rest of your day.

Yoga found me! For many years my friends had suggested that I tried yoga and that it would be good for me... as an exercise enthusiast and runner I thought it would be far too slow and boring for me. That was however, until in 2006 when I was injured with a recurring hip-flexor issue and was unable to complete …
Yin Yoga with Christina McArthur
Yin yoga is a cooling, slow, meditative practice that gives you time and space to turn inward, tuning into your mind and the physical sensations in the body, all so easily ignored at this time of year. Yin yoga counteracts stress caused by fast-paced, active living and perfectly balances this intense yang activity with stillness (yin).
Yin yoga targets fascia, ligaments, and joints, improving flexibility and range of motion. You will hold positions for 3-5 minutes, your limbs supported by blocks and bolsters. Holding the posture stretches and strengthens deeper connective tissues while your muscles relax. You are encouraged to breathe through mild discomfort and to sit with your thoughts and emotions. You will sit or lie down, and postures will target the hips, shoulders, and spine.
Yin yoga suits people new to yoga and people dealing with injuries and some chronic conditions. For more information or to book, contact chrisyoga60@gmail.com

My yoga journey started in 2005 when I was dragged along to my first yoga class by a good friend who claimed it "would do me good because I was stuck". I was ruminating about the death of my partner and a severely frozen shoulder at the time. …
